It is a two-years program that aims at preparing nurses who can make independent judgment in nursing related decisions that enables them either to take a role of middle level managers for GOs/NGOS/INGOs in the hospital or community settings, or take teaching role in nursing and other health professionals’ educational institutions for training of basic and middle level human resources in health.
Candidates with certificate (PCL) in nursing and minimum of 2 years work-experience are eligible to apply. Only those students who pass the selection examination conducted by the IOM and fall into merit list will be admitted to the program.
Classes starts from November and admission starts from August/September. Students who passes the TU common entrance examination can only apply for admission. However, international candidates can be admitted directly from Admission cell.
BNS PROGRAMME
The Bachelor in Nursing Science (BNS) Programme is a three-year program at CMCTH that aims at preparing middle level nursing graduates who are equipped with the knowledge, skills and attitude competencies required for them to function as efficient care providers, teachers, and middle level managers in the hospital as well as community settings.
The Bachelor in Nursing Science Programme aims to prepare competent professional nurses in education, administration and services in respective level of health programs, which includes problem identification, planning, implementing and evaluating. Such graduates can serve in various types of positions at national, regional, zonal, district and local levels. Such graduates will be needed in various kinds of governmental or non- governmental health agencies, communities, hospitals, schools, campuses and institutions. Other areas may involve special responsibilities e.g. working directly with local communities and individuals, working primarily with school teachers, administrative, health education services and preparing health workers in nursing fields.
Bachelor in Nursing Science graduates will be able to carry out the responsibilities of various health institutions as a nursing officer/faculty/basic level researcher and care provider. The graduate in nurses will be thoroughly acquainted with the present trends, advanced technology in health care system, changing concepts of life style pattern and the expanding role and responsibilities in providing health services.
GOALS OF BNS PROGRAMME:
The goal of the Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNS) program is to prepare a multi-skilled nurse who will competently meet the healthcare needs of the community in all settings by providing preventive, promotive, curative, as well as rehabilitative services to members of society. Similarly, the graduate is also prepared to initiate, participate in and support health research.

Procedure for Candidate Selection
Eligible candidates should appear for the entrance exam conducted by IOM, Exam section and the merit list will be published based on the marks secured in the entrance examination.
