A BPH Student bears the responsibility of providing leadership to the community and to the middle level health workers. BPH course aims to provide advanced knowledge and practical skills in primary health care to those who have qualified the certificate level programs in medicine, nursing, health sciences & also to other related professionals.
The Bachelor of Public Health (BPH) programme offered at Chitwan Medical College trains its graduates to deal with the health of the community and prevent diseases through organised community actions, information resources and education efforts.
BPH programme covers multidisciplinary approaches including health service management, epidemiology, public health administration and management. It also deals with these sub-fields: community health, behavioural health, health-economics, occupational health, public policy and environmental health along with biostatistics

Candidate should have completed 10+2 or intermediate of science or equivalent course with English, Biology, Physics and Chemistry as major subjects securing at least 50 per cent marks in each subject and in aggregate from a recognized college.
Candidate (both Nepalese and foreign nationals) must have passed the entrance exam set by Institute of Medicine (IOM) of the same year candidate is seeking admission in.
CANDIDATE SELECTION PROCESS
Eligible candidates should appear for the entrance exam conducted by IOM, Exam section and the merit list will be published based on the marks secured in the entrance examination. The candidate selection and admission will then be done following the guidelines set by IOM (on merit basis and post-counseling sessions held by IOM).

For international students
International students should have an eligibility certificate from the concerned authority of their country, a valid student visa (if visa is required to stay in Nepal) and eligibility certificate issued by IoM or Ministry of Education of Nepal.
After fulfilling the aforementioned criteria, students have to visit CMC College along with the guardians and have to present the original copies of all the academic certificates. Thereafter, students have to fill up necessary documents and agreement papers as per the rules and requirements of CMC.
Successful candidates will have to undergo medical test by a Medical Board constituted by the College and must be declared fit for final admission.

The course is of 4 academic years affiliated to Institute of Medicine (IOM), Tribhuvan University (TU). The students will follow the academic calendar prepared by the concerned department.

As per TU rules
There are limited numbers of scholarship seats available every year for this program for the deserving students (10% of the total approved seats for the academic year). The candidates, who study under scholarship scheme, are finalized during counseling sessions held by IOM. For further details regarding the counseling sessions, please check the website of IOM regularly.
