It is a four years program that aims at preparing middle level graduate nurses who can function independently or as members of health teams in providing holistic nursing care to individuals and groups at various levels of prevention, take-up leadership positions, in managing client care in hospital as well as community setting, teach in nursing program and other related programs and also participate in research activities for the development of nursing profession.
GOALS OF THE PROGRAM
The goal of the program is to prepare a multi-skilled nurse who will competently meet the healthcare needs of the community in all settings by providing preventive, promotive, curative as well as rehabilitative services to members of society. Similarly, the graduate is also prepared to initiate, participate in and support health research.
To prepare nursing professionals for leadership in nursing education, management, clinical and other professional roles within the healthcare delivery service.
To provide leadership and direction for the progressive development of the nursing profession of the country.
To strengthen nursing as a viable research-based academic discipline.
Candidate should have completed 10+2 or intermediate of science or equivalent course with English, Biology, Physics and Chemistry as major subjects and securing at least 50 per cent marks in each subject and in aggregate from a recognized college.
Candidate (both Nepalese and foreign nationals) must have passed the entrance exam set by Institute of Medicine (IOM) of the same year of seeking admission in.
CANDIDATE SELECTION PROCESS
Eligible candidates should appear for the entrance exam conducted by IOM, Exam section and the merit list will be published based on the marks secured in the entrance examination. The candidate selection and admission will then be done following the guidelines set by IOM (on merit basis and post-counseling sessions held by IOM).

For international students
International students should have an eligibility certificate from the concerned authority of their country, a valid student visa (if visa is required to stay in Nepal) and eligibility certificate issued by IoM or Ministry of Education of Nepal.
To get the admission in the programme, along with all other academic documents and proof of nationality, Indian candidate should also submit eligibility certificate issued from Indian Nursing Council of India before admission.
After fulfilling the aforementioned criteria, students have to visit CMC College along with the guardians and have to present the original copies of all the academic certificates. Thereafter, students have to fill up necessary documents and agreement papers as per the rules and requirements of CMC.
Successful candidates will have to undergo medical test by a Medical Board constituted by the College and must be declared fit for final admission.

The course is of 4 academic years affiliated to Institute of Medicine (IOM), Tribhuvan University (TU). The students will follow the academic calendar prepared by the concerned department.
There are limited numbers of scholarship seats available every year for this program for the deserving students. The candidates, who study under scholarship scheme, are finalized during counseling sessions held by IOM.
