Different postgraduate programs have been started in Chitwan Medical College (CMC) with an aim to produce specialist health workforce in various streams. Masters in Nursing (MN) program was the first postgraduate program to start, in the year 2010. It was followed by Masters in Public Health (MPH) and Masters in Clinical Microbiology (MSc. Clinical Microbiology) programs. More recently, from the year 2018, we have also started post-graduate programs (MD/MS) in select clinical subjects.

The programs follow the curriculum set by Tribhuvan University and Institute of Medicine (IOM). Further details about individual programs can be obtained from the following website.


We have applied for additional postgraduate programs in other clinical and basic science specialties and we are hopeful that they will start from next year.
Generally on the months of March/April every year. The candidates are advised to follow-up the IOM website ( or website of CMC (URL: for advertisements regarding application for the postgraduate programs.

The details regarding eligibility criteria and application process for the postgraduate studies will be made available at the IOM website and subsequently in the website of CMC.

The entrance examination details, results and counseling details will also be available at these two websites after the advertisements for applications are published.
