Departments
In Chitwan Medical college, undergraduate midwifery (prenatal, intranatal, postnatal) courses for BNS (2007A.D) and B.Sc Nursing (2008 A.D) and postgraduate Women's health and development courses for MN (2012 A.D) has been conducted by respective faculties and later on 2016 A.D, formal creation of Department of Women's health and Development was accomplished. The current Head of Department is Vice Principal Prof. Basanta Thapa.
To prepare competent post graduate and undergraduate nurses capable to function independently or in collaboration with multidisciplinary health team members in the care of individual, family, group and community regarding preventive, promotive, curative and rehabilitative aspects of women's health.
After the completion of post graduate and under gradates levels, students will be able to:

We have well equipped simulation lab with advanced birthing models and other materials for guiding students to provide adequate antenatal, intranatal, postnatal and family planning services. Further, students are posted in sub-fertility unit and maternity unit of our hospital which is well equipped tertiary level and referral centre of maternity/women's health.
Methods and use of technology in teaching activities:
Both postgraduate and undergraduate students are instructed by using advanced technologies in theory classes, simulated labs, clinical settings and community field trips as mentioned below.

We have been organizing breast feeding week celebration every year with initiation of postgraduate students. Further, trainings on helping mothers survive (HMS), helping baby breathe (HBB) has been organized for both students and staffs by respective faculties.
Journal clubs, Skilled Birth Attendants (SBA) trainings for both students and staffs, Clinical training skills (CTS) training
